RWMCC stands for the Remote World Model Car Club.
It was founded in 1981 by a group of model car enthusiasts who wanted a place to race their 1/8th scale radio-controlled Rallycross cars. The club initially started at Remote World farm in Goring, Berkshire, which is where it got its name. After a few moves, it relocated to its present site in Upton Court Park, Slough, Berkshire, UK, in 1988.
RWMCC is a member of the BRCA (British Radio Car Association) and is known for running well-organized race meetings using a computerized lap counting system (AMB). Racing typically consists of 4 to 6 rounds of 5-minute qualifying heats, followed by finals for all drivers, which are usually 20 minutes long (though they may be shorter in winter due to weather and light conditions).
The club welcomes drivers of all ages and abilities, from novices to experts, with members coming from across the South of England and the Midlands. They race 1/8th scale off-road buggies (rallycross) powered by 3.5cc glow plug engines, controlled by 2-channel radio systems. These cars are highly technical and adjustable to suit different driving styles and track conditions.
